Funding
LASC has received a National Resource Center Grant from the U.S. Department of Education. In the past, the Center has also received generous grants from The Rockefeller Foundation, the Social Science Research Council, Organization of American States, Ford Foundation, United States Information Agency, North-South Center, National Endowment for the Humanities, Inter-American Development Bank, Fondo Nacional de las Artes (Argentina), Fundacion Antorchas, and Fulbright, among others.
Post-doctoral fellowships
The Center offers two post-doctoral fellowships per year open to both junior and senior scholars from anywhere in the world. The Center has housed Fellows from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa-Rica, Cuba, England, Mexico, Paraguay, Uruguay, and the United States. LASC welcomes proposals that address issues related to the Center's initiatives from any disciplinary viewpoint. Fellows are required to be in residence at the University of Maryland during the period of their fellowship and to teach a seminar.
