Residency Programs

The Latin American and Caribbean Studies Center offers two residency programs for graduate students and community members.

LACS invites you to be part of our dynamic residency programs tailored for graduate students and community members. The Graduate Residency Program invites UMD graduate students passionate about Latin America or the Caribbean to showcase their research through engaging talks or workshops during a semester-long program. For community members, our Community Resident Affiliate (CRA) Program offers an enriching partnership, fostering collaboration and contributing to the vibrant cultural dialogue at the LACS Center. Join us in promoting global cultural competence within the diverse tapestry of UMD's community.

Graduate Residency Program

The Graduate Residency Program is a semester-long residency at LACS, open to all currently enrolled UMD graduate students who are engaged in scholarship focused on Latin America and/or the Caribbean. The program provides graduate residents with office space and full access to LACS for the duration.
